Replacement Gearboxes for Industrial Extruders

Baker Perkins offers a range of through-shaft cooled gearboxes with greater capacity, higher service factors and lower noise emissions. These gearboxes are available as upgrades to existing machines.

The gearboxes are rated for higher speeds and torque. Subject to the rating and conditions of other parts of the system, this means that the throughput of the extruder may be increased.

Service life and reliability are improved by higher service factors, a new, fully integrated lubrication system and the latest design shaft couplings (Posilok) that accurately maintain the position of the shafts throughout their life. The well proven through-shaft cooling arrangement is retained.

Superior, durable bearings – exclusive to Baker Perkins’ gearboxes – increase reliability and provide an industry leading service factor that results in a longer lifespan and reduced maintenance costs. 

The upgrade includes:

• Removal of old gearbox and lubrication system
• Fitting of new gearbox with integrated lubrication system and Posilok couplings
• Optical alignment of gearbox shafts and barrel
• Replacement of original covers and guards
• Re-commissioning at original speed/throughput

Applications

Gearbox upgrades are available for the MP2000 and MP-PC ranges sizes 50mm, 65mm and 80mm.
