Baker Perkins has developed a range of upgrades that significantly enhance the performance of an existing Wirecut and extend its service life. The various options enable product quality, output, and weight accuracy to be increased while improved reliability, easier maintenance and easier sanitation contribute to a lower lifetime cost of ownership.

Why upgrade?
Over the long lifecycle of a Baker Perkins, APV Baker or Werner Lehara Wirecut machine its performance and reliability can begin to lag behind current standards. Increased waste, product giveaway, and downtime reduce yield, quality and output while downtime for cleaning and maintenance increase costs.

Many of these problems can be greatly reduced through upgrading the machine with our latest designs to raise performance and reliability levels, reduce costs or adapt the machine for a new application.

Lower Production Costs
Retrofitting a new ‘World’ head to and existing machine base can deliver excellent product weight variance results, typically ranging from +/- 1-2% on plain dough. This minimizes product give-away and waste, and production costs are further reduced by faster cleaning and changeover times. For products with large inclusions cutting consistency and deposit accuracy can be improved by fitting an oscillating knife.

Higher Output
In some cases higher output can be achieved by fitting a dynamic band raise, which allows for more accurate product placement on the belt at higher cutting speeds.

Greater Reliability
Replacing any of the major elements of the Wirecut, – head, mechanism or drives – with newer versions will improve reliability and reduce downtime and waste.

Easier to clean
Easy side-removal of the filler block and dies and an improved head design make cleaning easier while for maximum effectiveness quick-release clamps enable the whole head assembly to be removed for off-line cleaning.

Easier to operate and maintain
