Rotary Cereal Cooker

Controlled steam cooking of whole or milled grains is the most effective way of retaining their nutritional benefits while developing the texture and flavour required for high quality breakfast cereals. Part of the Baker Perkins Cereal Master TXTM range of expandable lines, the Rotary Cereal Cooker is a high-output batch cooker that delivers highest levels of quality, consistency and efficiency with low operating and maintenance costs.
Thorough Cooking
Batches of grain are
cooked in a slowly rotating vessel through which pressurised steam
flows. The rotation of the vessel works with its unique double
conical profile to constantly move and turn the grains in the steam
for even and thorough cooking.
Consistent Cooking
The cooking process is
stable and repeatable and, when combined with automatic process
control, results in consistent cooking within and between batches.
For maximum consistency the direction of steam through the cooker
is alternated and a pre-heat system normalises process conditions
on start-up.
Efficient Operation
Labour costs are kept
to a minimum by a recipe-driven control system that carries out all
the process operations automatically, plus a cooker vessel design
that facilitates discharge with no operator intervention.
Consistent processing avoids waste while downtime and maintenance
costs are minimised by careful design.
Hygienic and Easy to Clean
The internal
surface of the cooker vessel is fully welded and free of cracks,
crevices or niches that could harbour bacteria, while
difficult-to-clean obstructions such as lifter blades or a through
shaft are eliminated. A fully automatic CIP/wash cycle cleans the
vessel quickly and effectively.
