Angled Overhead Wirecut Machine

The Angled Overhead Wirecut Machine is designed to lay down wirecut cookies at an angle to create "nested patterns" which improve utilization of the baking surface and deliver up to 25% higher production.
As part of the Baker Perkins family of wirecut machines the angled machine also provides best-in-class dough piece weight control, ease of cleaning, simplicity of operation and fast product changeovers.
1) Angled Machine Productivity
By positioning the machine head at a 30° angle to the oven band, dough pieces can be "nested" to increase product density. This optimization of the available oven band area produces significant production gains.

3) Machine Head
- 300mm (12") diameter grooved mild steel feed rolls with fixed roll gap powered by a single variable speed drive
- Clamshell pivoting head provides access to die and filler block without tools from machine control side
4) Wirecut Mechanism
- The wirecut mechanism operates at speeds from 80-200 cuts per minute for dough piece sizes up to 4 ¾" diameter
- Stroke adjustment is by handwheel. The cut-off mechanism can be equipped with wires or knife blades, depending on the dough
- A static band raise mechanism raises the oven band with positional adjustment via a machine mounted handwheel
5) Best-in-Class Dough Piece Weight Control
- The polymer coated hopper has vertical sides to prevent bridging
- 300mm (12") diameter feed rolls provide consistent dough feed rates to the die assembly
- Static end rings and stainless steel bearing housings ensure repeatability of clearances between the machine head, die and filler block
- Die engineering and manufacturing expertise
6) Fast Changeovers and Ease of Cleaning
- Baker Perkins unique "clamshell" pivoting head design enables die and filler block changes by a single operator from the control side of the machine with no tools in less than 5 minutes
7) Machine Controls
- Wirecut stroke and band raise position are adjusted by simple handwheels
- Control over feed rolls and wirecut mechanism is via push buttons mounted in the "on machine" control panel
- Four e-stops in NEMA4 stainless steel enclosures are strategically located on the machine
8) Machine Base and Frame
- The machine head can be easily removed from the base for cleaning
- The drive for the feed rolls is located in the machine base
- Base construction is painted mild steel tubular framework, designed to straddle the oven band
- Components (other than the feed rolls) above the product area are food grade polymer coated
Standard Options
- Stainless steel hopper
- Dough Trough rest for hopper
- Level probes for hopper
- Stainless steel feed rolls
- Stainless steel machine head assembly
- Oscillating knife for wirecut mechanim
- Die cart for even faster die changeovers
- Compact Logix PLC with Panelview display
- Dies and filler blocks
