Batch Dissolver

The Batch Dissolver is used to dissolve batches of either pre-weighed individual ingredients or a pre-weighed confectionery syrup slurry batch from the weighing system. The Dissolver comprises a cylindrical tank with a steam coil in its base and a centrifugal pump. Batch sizes up to 200 kg can be handled.
The centrifugal pump circulates the syrup within the Dissolver until a pre-set temperature has been reached. The pump then stops and the steam supply is cut off. The dissolved syrup is then discharged by operation of a diversion valve, and restarting the pump. The dissolved syrup would normally be transferred into a holding vessel for further processing.
Outputs up to 700 kg per hour can be achieved with hand feeding
and 1350 kg per hour with automatic ingredient feed.
Coil Dissolver
A range of coil type Dissolvers is available for continuously dissolving a syrup slurry previously homogeneously mixed. The unit comprises a syrup slurry metering pump and an insulated steam heated chamber with an internal cooking coil. The pump and chamber are mounted on a stand and are manufactured to accepted pressure vessel regulations and come complete with steam controls.
The unit comes in four sizes with outputs up to 1750 kg per hour of a dissolved syrup.
Plate Heat Exchanger Dissolver
A range of plate heat exchangers is available for the continuous dissolving of many confectionery syrups with outputs from 200 to 2000 kg per hour. Hygienic operation with all surfaces accessible for cleaning. The unit would be fed with a continuous supply of a homogeneously pre-mixed syrup slurry via a suitable metering pump. The number and size of plates used determines the output.
The plate pack is mounted within an enclosed frame. All materials used that come into contact with the product are stainless steel. Steam controls and control panel housing electrics form part of the specification.
Scraped Surface Dissolver
This unit is specifically designed for dissolving confectionery syrups that may contain ingredients which may burn onto heated surfaces as is the case for toffees and caramels which contain milk and dairy fat. To overcome this problem the heated surface is continuously scraped which minimises burn on and improves heat exchange efficiency.
The Dissolver comprises a vertically mounted steam jacketed heated tube suitably insulated and stainless steel covered. Product enters at the bottom of the tube and exits from the top. A number of these units can be mounted in series to increase output and would form part of a total toffee/caramel dissolving and cooking plant.
The scraper has a fixed speed drive and steam controls form part
of the total package. The Dissolver would be fed with a continuous
supply of a syrup slurry from a holding vessel via a positive
displacement metering pump. All product contact materials are in
stainless steel. The vertical tube is manufactured to accepted
pressure vessel regulations.
