Colour/Flavour Incorporator


Baker Perkins has a wide range of systems for incorporating colours and flavours into hard and soft candy in one, two, three or more streams, creating a wide range of attractive and innovative end products. The systems can be integrated into existing confectionery cooking and depositing systems from Baker Perkins.
Colour/Flavour Incorporator
- The colour/flavour incorporator is a dynamic mixer, through which the candy is pumped, providing high efficiency mixing in an enclosed cylinder, minimising flavour loss through flash-off and evaporation
- Volatile flavours, such as eucalyptus and menthol, are easily handled; up to 18% less flavour is used compared to conventional systems
- Pastes such as coffee and chocolate can also be added and mixed
- Can be used in conjunction with static in-line mixers or a mixing cone system to make multi-coloured products
- Can be used with reciprocating distribution pipework to the depositor to facilitate first in - first out at the hopper
In-line Mixers
- Volatile flavours can be added to two-colour candy products without excess flavour loss
- Can be used in conjunction with a two pump outlet from Baker Prekins Microfilm Cooker for two colour products through two separate feed streams
- No moving parts
Mixing Cones
- A well-proven and open system comprising a rotating cone which can mix in colours, flavours and powders with minimum shear
- Can be supplied with one, two and three way gravity split candy feed systems for single, two and three colour candies, which are simple to operate on a manual basis and require minimum automation
- Build-up of powders at mixer in-feed is avoided
- Powders and encapsulated flavours can be hygienically added
Small Additions Feed Systems
- For metering colours, flavours or acids into mixing systems
- Generally comprising small precision piston pumps with stroke adjustment, together with reservoirs containing the liquid to be added
- Available options:
- On-line calibration via measuring tubes and isolating valves
- Cascade control from syrup feed pumps for multi-stream systems
- Loss-in-weight or flow meter dosing measurement for fully automated systems
- Reservoir agitation for additions where powders are not fully dissolved in water or blends are being added
Powder Feed System
For feeding of colour/flavour in powder form, such as Flexarome®, or for feeding powdered acids into confectionery syrups.
