Flat lollipops join the quality revolution

Candy moulds - a total service

Baker Perkins has extended the capability of its proven ServoForm range of lollipop depositing systems to include flat lollipops. This development unlocks a huge potential in end product variety that cannot be achieved by traditional production methods.

Flat lollipops can now be made in one, two, three and four colours, with a multi-component capability. Lines have the ability to produce solid, layered and striped products. A range of hard, soft and gum centre-fills adds distinctive and previously unattainable textures to the portfolio.

One side of the shape can be embossed for character merchandising, and a wide choice of shape profile can be developed - rounds, ovals or animal shapes are possible.

An extensive array of flavour profiles adds even more potential to the blend of options to tempt the consumer - tastes support the visual attraction of the product, and provide new experiences. Sugar-free products can be made in a range of diameters, depths and weights to allow brand development.

Baker Perkins ServoForm flat lollipop plants are totally automated from ingredient mixing to stick placing and the cooled product. Multi-functional lines for the production of flat lollipops and candies can also be supplied.

Systems for ball and 3D shaped lollipops are already at work in Europe, India and Asia, at rates of up to 1,332 lollipops per minute. With over 500 confectionery installations worldwide, Baker Perkins is the world's leading manufacturer of lollipop and confectionery depositing plant.

Baker Perkins was the first company to develop depositing technology to provide a higher quality lollipop, giving the potential for an almost unlimited product variety, and offering greater production flexibility than traditional die forming processes.

Superior appearance, high clarity and rapid flavour release with a smooth 'mouth feel' are some of the key quality advantages. The nature of the depositing process creates complete control throughout the system, leading to extremely high dimensional, shape and weight accuracy; negligible scrap rates and efficient wrapping; plus maximum hygiene with low maintenance.

Baker Perkins lollipop systems include automatic weighing, feeding, dissolving, and colour/flavour addition, plus the 'Microfilm' cooker - regarded as the industry standard for sugar and sugar-free high boiled lollipops and candies.
