Two day June event at Peterborough, UK

A Confectionery Showcase being held at the Baker Perkins Peterborough, UK headquarters on Tuesday June 2 and Wednesday June 3 will appeal to people involved in R&D, new product development, engineering and manufacturing.  Delegates from confectionery companies throughout the world will attend - please contact Keith Graham on +44 1733 283469 or e-mail keith.graham@bakerperkinsgroup.com

Day one will centre on detailed examination of two complete cooking and depositing lines in the final stages of assembly, supported by technical presentations and a factory tour.  Baker Perkins process technologists and design engineers will be on hand to explain equipment features and benefits, and answer any questions.

Day two will be based in the Baker Perkins Innovation Centre, where a pilot scale cooking and depositing line will be running.  There will also be a demonstration of co-extrusion of fruit-filled snacks, a new product with significant potential for confectionery companies seeking to extend their product portfolio.

Day two will also feature a Flavours and Ingredients Forum hosted by our ingredients partners Taura, Firmenich and Roquette. It will include a presentation by Roquette on the use of polyols in sugar-free confectionery.  Taura Natural Ingredients provide process support and pastes for new deposited fruit snacks; Firmenich is an acknowledged leader in confectionery flavour technologies and have worked with Baker Perkins for many years on numerous imaginative products.

Baker Perkins marketing manager Keith Graham says, “The two days will provide the opportunity to examine the latest equipment in detail, see live demonstrations of cooking and depositing, and develop new product ideas for innovative added-value products with us and our ingredient partners.”

Baker Perkins is the acknowledged world leader in the design and manufacture of confectionery cooking and depositing systems, with over 500 lines installed world-wide.  These core technologies cover hard candy, lollipops, gums and jellies, toffee and caramels, and soft candy.

The company provides a complete service, from process and development trials in the Innovation Centre, through design, supply and commissioning, to Lifetime Support services including spare parts, mould replacements and equipment upgrades.
