Baker Perkins Introduces New Expandable, Rotary Moulder EM390
Date: 26 August 2003
Grand Rapids, MI - Baker Perkins recently introduced a new version of its industry standard 390 moulder, upgrading its standard features, and adding built-in availability of numerous options. The modular base unit carries no extra cost for its option add-on capability, and sells for approximately the same as its 390 predecessor.
Named the EM390, the new moulder is expandable and modular. As needs and requirements change, any of 15 options can later be added, eliminating extra cost for unneeded options. Existing dies from Baker Perkins' 390 rotary moulder are interchangeable with the new EM390. New standard features include a tangential knife with "on the fly" adjustment, contoured to the die to minimize damage and dough waste. The machine's enhanced design also features faster changeover, greater portability and easier cleaning, as well as PLC Controls and the ability to add options at any time.
Drive components are outboard, making them easily accessible for maintenance. With few interior obstructions, dough buildup is virtually eliminated and cleaning is easier and faster. The standard machine is corrosion-resistant, rated for wipe-down duty.
Available options include automatic belt tensioning, automatic nose bar lift to prevent accidental burning of the web in the stopped position, roll width to suit customer, oil spray for efficient release, feed roll cooling, and dough level probes in addition to several other options. For heavy sanitation requirements, corrosion proof stainless steel models are available.
Better piece weight control, and faster belt and die changeovers offer cost savings and improved "product up time" to make payback very attractive for the new EM390 moulder. It offers the proven performance of the traditional 390 with state of the art upgrades. Additional information is available from the Baker Perkins sales office at 616-784-3111.
