Rapid installation capability for rotary moulder

Galbusera choose Baker Perkins quality

When Italian biscuit maker Galbusera needed to incorporate a new rotary moulder into an existing production line, they chose the quality and flexibility benefits of the Baker Perkins Series 540.

A machine that would maintain the quality reputation of Galbusera, a family owned company, and slot quickly and efficiently into the line was essential. Glabusera use the moulder to make a range of Frollini - typical rich, high-quality moulded Italian products with honey.

Baker Perkins has developed a 'plug-in' capability for these unit machines, based on specifying each one for the customers particular product range, and on thorough testing before despatch from the Peterborough, UK factory.  The Series 540 was at work the day after installation by Galbusera's own engineers at their factory at Morbegno, north of Milan.

Series 540 rotary moulders provide the key benefit of total control flexibility, via a range of both mechanical and electrical options to meet customers' specific needs.  A solid forcing roll; and variable speed independent drives for the feed and moulding rolls, and extraction belt; are designed to give precise process and weight control, allow optimum settings to be achieved consistently, and increase versatility.

The moulder speed range can be specified to suit the application, up to a maximum of 40m per minute for long ovens and short bake times.  The unique arrangement of driven extraction web with adjustable tension enables very low fat doughs to be run with no extraction problems.  A portable version with integral extended delivery conveyor is available for easy switch between oven lines.  The moulder is available in a complete range of widths, up to 1600mm to suit today's ultra-wide lines.

The latest addition to the Series 540 family offers motorised adjustment of all major functions - forcing roll gap, moulding roll scraper position, extraction roll position, and web tension.

Baker Perkins also provides a full design, supply and refurbishment service for the moulding rolls that are key to maximising the effectiveness of a rotary moulding system.
